ChanceMap is a student-created website that allows easy access to a range of extracurricular activities for students. The work on Chancemap's identity included their logo, palette, along with a few Facebook assets.
As ChanceMap nears the end of its development process, its co-founders approached me in need of an identity system that captures what the application is all about. As a website that also maintains a presence on Facebook, ChanceMap needed something that both captures its purpose and appeals to a large audience.
As so-called opportunity hunting sites are ubiquitous, the challenge for ChanceMap's identity is to make the website stand out from the crowd while still conveying its mission to creating a map of opportunities for high school students.
ChanceMap's logo is formed out of the initial C and a location pin that occupies the negative space inside, which speaks to both the brand name and its mission. The brand color palette consists of white, orange, and dark blue, allowing flexible combinations.
